End of the season trip to South Tyrol
20.10. – 22.10.2021
Day 1 – arrival, Lipizzaner stud & Schilcher wine route
Arrival via the Pinzgau – Pongau – Tauern Autobahn – St. Michael – Thomathal – Murau (breakfast break) – Judenburg – Weißkirchen – Gaberlpass – Piber (guided tour in the Lipizzaner stud and lunch) – Bärnbach (visit to the Hundertwasserkirche) – Ligist – Schilcher Weinstrasse – Bad Gams. Refer room. Dinner at the hotel.
2 day – Oil mill & South Styrian Wine Route & Buschenschank
Today we take a tour with a local guide. First we visit an oil mill in Bad Gams. Then drive over the Sausal Wine Road to Kitzeck, the highest wine-growing village in Austria. Continue past Ehrenhausen and the wine market town of Gamlitz to the Buschenschank Strohmeier-Trobi on the famous South Styrian wine route – the “Styrian Tuscany! Stop with a hearty snack (included). Via Gleinstätten and a piece of the Schilcher Wine Road, it goes back to Bad Gams in Schilcherland Styria. Styrian evening with farmer’s buffet and Styrian music
3rd day – Journey home & Stübing open-air museum
After breakfast we head back home.
We drive via Graz to Stübing. Visit to the open-air museum, which is one of the 10 large central open-air museums in Europe. The holistic representation of the historical objects from the different federal states gives the visitors a comprehensive picture of the life and everyday life of the rural population of yore. Then a cozy lunch break. Continue on the Gleinalmautobahn – Schoberpass to Mitterberg – coffee break – Ennstal – Pongau – Pinzgau.
